Hi everyone,
UI'm just wondering if any of you know if there is any accessible program for downloading music? A reply would be greatly appreciated.

Bear share is a good program, the selection is not bad, and it's quite accessible. You can find it on www.jfwlite.com.

I think i've given up on telling people. They obviously don't care. O well. Anyways, I use eMulePlus. If you want, I can send the proggy and scripts. When installing the scripts you need to change the directory they are installed to depending on what version of jaws you have.

Bear Share...Might as well throw my computer against a wall. Lol.
Try soulseek or torrent harvester.

Personally I think you get better luck with some of the paid music services out there such as the web version of rhapsody
I heard yahoo music is not accessible so it's probably best to stay away from that.
I no the legal version of Nabster used to be accessible but I don't know if that's still the case.
And there's allways emusic which is good provided you want material that's off the cuff.
But you can search there site with out having to sign up.
Oh, I forgot to mention that you can use rhapsody for free without having to give out any credit card info, you only get 25 songs per month but for 9.95 you get unlimited.
Emusic will also give you a free trial but you do have to give credit card info and you have to keep track of how many downloads you've used up.

My son used Bearshare on my computer about six weeks ago, and I got a virus right after that. I can't prove that bearshare was the source of the virus, but it took me about three days of continuous work to get rid of the virus. As I said, I can't prove that bearshare was the perpetrator, but I'm suspicious. Itt came from somewhere.

Well, I've used bearshare before, and received lots of spyware on my computer, hence why I was asking if there is anything elose out there. Unless there is some kind of spyware program out there that would get rid of the spyware the bearshare brings in.

Emule plus is fine if you’re patient. The downloads tend to go slower than bearshare, but I managed to find most of what I search for. It really depends on what you download. Bearshare have removed the software that use to be bundled with it, but I think I’ll be using emule plus instead. It does have scripts apparently, but I can use it just fine without.

Yes i have to say that the one time i used bareshare the downloads were quite fast and they did have a lot.
As far as i understand, bareshare pro does not have spyware in it because you are supporting the program by paying for bareshare, but the free versions a different story.

anybody that uses that rapsady site, i assume you can just burn music to a cd and play it on any compatible mp3 player?? or can you only use it with certain things. i was using allofmp3.com but i just looked at it again and it's turned really nasty in as much as i find the site really quirky and to be honest topping up my account has turned more into a nightmare than anything else.

Post 13 by b3n (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 26-Dec-2006 6:43:54

O allofmp3's cool.
They just started offering free music through there ADD SUPPORTED music player in mp3x format at 128k.
Of course if you do your research you can get a mp3x to mp3 converter.
Much faster than torrents, but i agree with the site layout.
BEN.

try easynews.com, no installing of software. costs 9.99 for 20 GB a month.

Post 15 by Heavy Metal Girl 85 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Tuesday, 26-Dec-2006 17:57:13

yeah Rapsity is great, it's $10 an month for unlimited downloads. you have to use a program to record the cd's from rapsity though, like replay music.

Post 16 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 26-Dec-2006 21:26:52

So, is Rapsity completely JAWS accessible, then? I don't mind paying for music, I just want to know where an accessible site is. For example, Walmart.com sucks.

Post 17 by frequency (the music man) on Wednesday, 27-Dec-2006 1:24:09

i would never use something with DRM. personally, eMule, bittorrent or allofmp3.com. they even have some lossless audio downloads available.

Hello there I down lower that program from the message on here. and I thing it did sum cramp to it and it is only three month old. I ges it has to go back to dell.

Post 19 by Heavy Metal Girl 85 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Thursday, 28-Dec-2006 16:55:26

yes Rapsity is jaws accessable, you have to route your jaws cursor to PC, but yeah I love it, it has a lot of stuff in their data base. I have heard that there are scrips for jaws for rapsity, but I don't use them

Hi all,
someone I talk to on vipconduit told me that a geek got hold of winmx, and it was better than ever, and there were 2 million people on it. he even played a song he got off of it, an old charlie Pryde song. I have used winmx and kazaa lite on my old computer. How these programs are with xp, I don't know yet, winmx was a bit more difficult than kazaa lite, but I think it was doable.

where can you get Emule plus and how much does it cost? Also another program to get music from is lime wire. Despite what people say there are scripts. I quit using it though because when I searched for something it always gave me a whole bunch of crap. Thanks.

Post 23 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Friday, 29-Dec-2006 20:57:46

where can I get the scripts for limewire?

Post 24 by shadow of john (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 30-Dec-2006 14:59:20

speeking of scripts, I need the scripts for the programs dc++, and the so called scripts for limewire. It seems that, criss doesn't have the dc++ scripts anymore.

Post 25 by changedheart421 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 31-Dec-2006 0:19:06

the thing you need to get lime wire accessible is java access bridge. If you would like this email me at Jessiesears@gmail.com Note, it does not work that well but does the job if you have the time to mess with it.

Post 26 by shadow of john (Veteran Zoner) on Monday, 01-Jan-2007 1:06:21

thanks, but I found it, thanks anyways. Another program I can recommend to people is µtorrent, pronounced microtorrent. It can be found it
www.utorrent.com
You can get an installer, or you can get it standalone. It's another of those torrent downloading programs! A good sight is demonoid.com, but you have to register, and registrations are only open on fridays. But as I said before, thank you queen for the access bridge suggestion. Later. Piece out!
